Considered extremely rare and cataloged accordingly by Gibbons at over £3000 i was surprised to find two examples of this rare King George 6 stamp available through auction within a couple of weeks of each other.

The first arrived on ebay and has sinced been sold, at a starting price of $2000 (£1250) it managed to attract 1 bidder.

The second example is listed in the forthcoming Murray Payne sale and has a starting/estimate of £2000.

I know of several other used copies of this variety but no mint examples.. does anyone know of any ?
