Notes : 2 tapestries with reference to MALTA. Group of sailors in lower tapestry look like French matelots! the French ship ATHOS of Messageries Maritime sailed 28.11.1915 for China with 900 chinese workers and 1000 other passengers. Sunk by German sub U65 17.2.1917 in breach of international law, 180kms SE of Malta. This is likely connection to Malta. But who would have made them, in Malta, France of elswehere?
